Position Summary:
AAA United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Lake Charles, LA that is a premier provider of VIP/VVIP interior completions for large aircraft, ranging from B737 and A320 airframes to larger Boeing and Airbus. They are a leader in designing, manufacturing, and delivering aerospace products, services, and solutions to customers on a global scale. Their primary focus is on achieving design excellence and redelivering superior quality products to private entities, government officials, heads of state, and corporate protocol operators.
The Aircraft Cabinet Maker reads blueprints and is experienced with the table saw, band saw and word working equipment, needing little guidance to perform functions related to the fabrication and finishing of aircraft cabinets and interior components for wood, honeycomb or composite assemblies using design and engineering drawings and specifications.
Essential Functions:
- Fabricates aircraft furniture and other composite, honeycomb or wood-surfaced subassemblies using aircraft specifications, design and engineering drawings with a high level of safety, quality, detail and productivity.
- Assembles pins and glues cabinet shells. Installs drawer-slides, hinges, latches and other hardware in subassemblies.
- Applies exterior surface materials such as laminates, veneers, and cap strips.
- Ensure the work area is kept to the highest standards of safety, compliant at all times, enforcing regulations and practices to avoid accidents. Ensure that good housekeeping practices are performed at all times.
- Perform the proper tagging of Aircraft components, parts and panels appropriately stored (including racks by aircraft).
- Perform documentation procedures and signoffs in accordance with Repair Station Quality Manual and respective task requirements.
- Ensure that tools and equipment are correctly used and handled for both safety and to reduce breakages, wear and tear. Ensure tooling, GSE and ground equipment is returned to its proper storage area following use.
- Strive for continuous process improvements and increasing efficiencies in execution and delivery with safety as a priority.
- Maintain close and frequent communication with the Lead Technician, notifying him/her of progress and any roadblocks or threats to task accomplishment that could impact re-delivery.
- Deal with customers in a cordial, respectful and professional manner.
- Ensure the highest quality service, safety standards and performance, with the objective of exceeding customer satisfaction in the re-delivery of airworthy, reliable and clean aircraft, in a timely manner.
- Take part in any required training as determined by the company.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in V/VVIP custom aircraft cabinet making
- Experienced with table saw, band saw, and woodworking equipment.
- Able to read blueprints.
- At least two years of commercial cabinet shop production or finish carpentry experience.
- Minimum one year experience in manufacturing, fitting and installation of custom cabinetry.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in oral and written English.
- Must report for assignment with personal set of standard trade-specific tools.
