JOB DESCRIPTION
Survival Flight is seeking an EMS Base Supervisors to join our team in Cotton County. Either ALS or BLS providers who report directly to
the Director of EMS or SFEMS Operations Manager and are responsible for the supervision of
personnel, coordination of activities involving fleet and vehicle maintenance, health and safety,
purchasing, inventory, and supplies, emergency operations and public relations on a full-time basis.
Supervision includes training and guidance of crews, maintenance upkeep and review of truck,
equipment, and quarters; direct patient care and reporting to SFEMS Director or Operations
Manager as deemed appropriate, and collaboration with other departments or personnel as
required. The Base Supervisor is the individual in charge of his/her crew and is ultimately
responsible for all service appearances and readiness. He/she is also responsible for ensuring
adherence to all state and local laws, rules, policies, or ordinances under the guidance of the
SFEMS Operations Manager and Director of EMS.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the operations of the base daily ensuring the base and employee compliance with all federal, state, and
local laws, rules, and agreements. - Ensures contractual staffing of assigned operation area is met or exceeded, scheduling of Staff,
Self-staffs EMS units as needs require. - Management of all personnel assigned to the base, providing crew members guidance,
leadership, and direction. - Attending all required staff meeting(s)/training(s), coordinating, attending, and documenting
monthly base meetings. - Interacting effectively, professionally, and with tact when engaging the general public, crew
members, and all participating or partnering agencies. - Will be responsible for the appropriate use and application of Personal Protective Equipment
(PPE), including but not limited to protective masks, protective gear, respirators, and all
necessary protective measures. - Provided feedback to the Operations Manager and Director of EMS to assist with
developing and implementing programs to improve working conditions, patient care, and
system performance. - Notify the Operations Manager or Director of issues that require additional documentation,
i.e., tardy employees, no call/no show, substandard work, violation of Survival Flight
policies, poor attitudes, failure to "Do the Right Thing," and any other issues that need
professional resolution, i.e., verbal or written warning. Consult with the Director of HR on
any/all disciplinary actions. - QA review of charts within Imagetrend generated by his/her staff for completeness,
monitoring Imagetrend and working with the Billing Department to assist in timely billing
and chart reconciliation. - Delegate tasks to the appropriate staff as needed to fulfill daily operations.
- Ensuring data submission and chart reviews are completed in EMSRx.
- Manages, reports, and reconciles all Unusual Occurrence Reports appropriately.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Meet or exceed the qualifications outlined in the SFEMS - EMT job description.
- Clean employment history with Survival Flight without prior written reprimands of
Employee Improvement Plan within the past year. - Must possess the ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.
- Must possess the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with coworkers and function as a team member.
- Working knowledge of the organization, functions, mission, policies, rules, guidelines,
protocols, and methods.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate or Bachelors Degree in Paramedicine, Emergency Management, or similar
degree.
- Prior leadership experience
- Three (3) years of EMS operations experience
