About This Role
The Financial Analyst - Defense and security will be responsible of the following:
- As a member of the Finance team in the Canada region for the Defence and Security division, you will report directly to the Head of Finance of the region (established in Montreal).
- Participate to the consolidated financial forecasting process for the region.
- Be responsible for the consolidated analysis of financial performance for the region for specific or entire portfolio of programs.
- Be responsible for preparing various financial reports for the regional and divisional leadership teams for specific or entire portfolio of programs.
- Occasionally make presentations to regional and/or divisional management.
- Identify, document and communicate business opportunities and risks related to the regionu2019s financial forecasts related to your program portfolio.
- Participate in the development of the regionu2019s annual budget and strategic plan.
- Act as an expert within teams analyzing various business projects, including the review of prices, costs, contracts and investment books.
- Coordinate the various financial analyses between departments, including in particular the analysis of capital expenditure, direct, indirect and burden rate.
- Coordinate the various required accounting analyses (revenue and other questionnaires) with the regionu2019s accounting standards team (IFRS).
- Propose improvements to the various internal control processes.
- Participate in various special mandates.
- Participate, if necessary, in various audit mandates (external, internal, governmental).
- Assure the management of financial analysts as required.
Requirements:
- University degree in accounting or finance.
- Professional certification in accounting.
- Five to eight years of relevant experience in financial accounting and management, preparing financial reports for senior management and preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
- High-level computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good knowledge of Hyperion Enterprise and/or Hyperion Financial Management and/or Hyperion Planning.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Oracle systems an asset.
- Knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS) an asset.
- Initiative and leadership.
- Ability to work independently while having a good team spirit.
- Decision-making ability and critical thinking.
- Learning skills and ability to adapt quickly to new situations.
- Flexibility and ability to work in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment.
- Good organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure in a results-based environment.
