Systems Engineer
Grand Prairie, TX
Contract Position
$64.13-$69.13/Hour

Responsibilities:
- Perform hazard analyses in accordance with MIL-STD-882 to ensure product safety for the warfighter.
- Recommend safety features and controls for system design, software, training, and procedures to mitigate hazards.
- Develop and maintain safety documentation to meet customer and contractual requirements.
- Collaborate with systems and software engineering teams to generate software safety analyses per government guidelines.
- Lead System Safety Working Group (SSWG) meetings and coordinate safety requirements with internal and external teams.
- Review specifications and design changes to assess impacts on system safety.
- Develop safety criteria for testing activities and ensure compliance with operational range requirements.
- Support accident investigations, providing safety assessments and corrective action recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited college.
- Clearance: Interim Secret Clearance required.
- Experience:
- Development and implementation of System Safety Programs per MIL-STD-882.
- Familiarity with Software Safety Programs (e.g., AOP-52, DoD guidelines).
- Strong understanding of MIL-STD-882 analyses and system safety requirements.
- Desired Skills:
- Experience supporting government Safety Review Boards.
- Knowledge of Human Factors Engineering.
- Familiarity with missile and launcher systems.
- Proficiency in model-based engineering and DOORS requirements management.
- Experience with System Safety-specific software tools.
