Position Summary
This position is responsible for successfully delivering Stress Engineering solutions for assigned aircraft. You will contribute to daily operations and activities to ensure project results are met respecting budget, schedule, and quality targets. As Jet Aviation’s Stress Engineer, you will be collaborating closely with various stakeholders throughout the company to ensure project objectives are met.
Main Responsibilities
- Participate in developing certifiable technical solutions through the performance of structural analysis (Static, Fatigue & Damage Tolerance and Rapid Decompression) of primary and secondary structures.
- Validate engineering drawings, prepare documents, test reports, and provide general engineering support upon request under the direct supervision of a Stress Lead Engineer.
- Comply with all established safety, certification, and customer requirements under the supervision of a Stress Lead Engineer.
- Participate and/or witness tests and prepare the corresponding reports as required.
- Participate in project aircraft evaluation to develop functional group workscope for engineering project management approval.
- Review aircraft configuration in order to check workscope feasibility, accuracy and completeness.
- Update the status of the Technical Proposals & Studies on the Quote documentation as required.
- Identify cost & weight reduction opportunities in reference to the project, JBSL and GD business and corporate policies and objectives.
- Identify any process deviation in reference to the project, JBSL and GD business and corporate policies and objectives.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives, to simplify process and value-added work.
- Participate in Stress tools generation defining methods and guidelines.
- Participate as a team or project member for other projects requiring Engineering participation as required.
- Comply with the current working and safety regulations.
- May lead small projects as required.
- Provide Engineering Support as required. Perform other duties as assigned by functional or project Engineering management.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical or similar.
- Up to three-years’ experience in Aerospace Industry.
- Knowledge on Finite Element Models and understanding on Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Analysis.
- Knowledge on FMAP NX Nastran.
- Knowledge of Visual Basic or any other programing tools.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, forward thinking, and self-motivated team player.
- Ability to manage priorities of the job effectively and efficiently.
- Language English and Spanish (mandatory).
