The Sr Systems Sales Engineer will support the development, testing and implementation of microgrid control solutions around solar photovoltaic, battery energy storage solutions, diesel/natural gas generators and other distributed energy resources (DERs) utilizing HONs Experion controller, Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), multi-function protection relays, and concentrators from major OEMs. This is a remote position with 25 travel. Candidate can be located anywhere in the US and must be a US citizen.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, submit, and coordinate interconnection requests with the local Utility for distributed energy projects and analyze study results
  • Follow customers specifications and internal specifications for project implementation
  • Select components and create bill of materials
  • Prepare submittal documentation for projects and meet with customers to discuss project requirements and review submittals
  • Provide sketches, mark-ups, and direction to Electrical Designers to develop project drawings
  • Prepare customer submittals, Sequence of Operation, and test procedures
  • Assist with factory testing and field start-ups as required
  • Troubleshoot systems that are not functioning properly
  • Provide technical support to the proposals team

COMPENSATION

The annual base salaryrange for this position in California and New York (excluding most majormetropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut, and Hawaii is <$107k - $160k>.  For Washington and most major metropolitanareas in New York & California, the annual base salary range is <107k -$160k>. Please note that this salary information serves as a generalguideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer,including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position,the candidates work experience, education and training, key skills, as well asmarket and business considerations.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics 
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in power distribution control applications
  • Knowledge of microgrid operations
  • Knowledge of distributed energy resources (DERs)
  • Professional Engineering license
  • Knowledge of power monitoring and control systems and associated protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC-61850)
  • Experience with generator/multi-source paralleling controls
  • Experience with multi-function protection relays-based controls
  • Understanding of microgrid concepts, including islanding operation, grid-connected operation, energy management, control strategies, and power flow management within a microgrid system
  • Knowledge of microgrid control systems and automation technologies, such as supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, energy management systems (EMS), Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), HMIs, Remote Terminal Units (RTUs)
  • Knowledge of power electronics and their application in renewable energy systems and microgrids, including inverters, converters, and other power electronic devices to interface and control DERs
