Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Sr. Staff Systems Engineer - Requirements Verification to support the Missile Development and Production Integration for the AARGM-ER program to work with our talented Advanced Weapons team in Northridge, CA.
The selected candidate will be required to work on-site in Northridge, CA. No remote/telework arrangement is available for this position.
The ideal candidate will be supporting the systems requirements verification effort as part of the Systems Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) for the AARGM-ER program and will work closely with various engineering functions to support requirements verification activities during the qualification test and integration phase. Successful candidates are comfortable working in a dynamic, fast paced, aerospace team environment while possessing technical proficiency in analytical thinking, problem solving skills, and ability to interface across the different engineering teams. Candidate will be responsible for analyzing, developing verification artifacts with various stakeholders from different IPTs, and managing the system and subsystems requirements as part of this verification effort. Candidate will be expected to interface and brief: System Engineering IPT lead, Chief Engineers, and Program Management.
In this role, the selected candidate will (but not be limited to):
Have thorough understanding of requirements for system architecture development and systems integration
Lead systems engineering requirements verification activities
Generate and update of System and sub-system level specifications in DOORS (including requirements traceability)
Update and maintenance of Requirements Verification Matrix (RVM), system drawings, and documents
Engage with IPT members for development and operational lifecycle requirements
Support various technical meetings, such as Material Review Boards (MRB), Change Control Board (CCB), Engineering Review Board (ERB), to understand the latest configuration(s) of the system/subsystem integration and designs
Lead System Verification Review (SVR) and other internal and external technical meetings
Collaborate cross-functionally/IPTs and production team to document manufacturing/test requirements and constraints for missile production
Support updates to Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Interface Change Notices (ICNs), technical manuals, technical specifications, and system/subsystem documentation for the customer/end user
Coordinate engineering activities during system integration, test phases, and production
Provide technical leadership and direction for AARGM-ER EMD across multiple functions and IPTs
Serve as a technical spokesperson for AARGM-ER EMD as well as coordinating across multiple programs.
Basic qualifications for a Sr. Staff Systems Engineer (T06) are:
**Active DoD Secret Clearance
Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of fourteen (14) years of systems engineering experience with a minimum of four (4) years of requirement/verification experience; will consider Master of Science in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of twelve (12) years of systems/software engineering with a minimum of four (4) years of requirement/verification experience.
Experience working in the defense industry
Have technical depth on one or more of the subsystems of missile/weapon system, e.g., RF/sensors, guidance, navigation, control, telemetry/communication, flight termination system, power/battery, airframe
Experience with system/subsystem/software/hardware integration, test, and verification
Experience in leading projects and collaborating with teams from different technical disciplines in requirements verification
Worked on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious
Experience working without appreciable direction, exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment with the understanding of relatively long- term perspective, for desired result
Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating (written and oral) within all levels of the company to include Program Management and Technical Staff
Strong understanding of technical knowledge from different technical disciplines from a system level in order to provide effective solutions and input to the greater technical team
Experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings
Strong work ethic and the experience to work in an integrated product team (IPT) environment while ensuring the best decisions are made for the program
Understands product structure and document hierarchy
Experience in training and providing technical guidance other engineers and technicians.
Experience with systems engineering tools such as IBM Rationale DOORS, Cameo, Rhapsody.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Missile/Weapon development/sustainment programs
Experience with design in an aerospace environment
Experience with military in aircraft weapons release systems or weapon systems
Prior experience working in an AS9100 environment

Salary Range: $183,100 - $274,700
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
