Northrop Grumman Space System is seeking a Hardware Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead within the Payload and Ground Systems Division (PGSD). This position will support our Remote Sensing Program (RSP) Business Unit in Linthicum, MD.
The Hardware IPT Lead will focus on program execution responsibilities. Programmatic focus will be on the activities to develop key technologies, integrate and shape solutions for Space PGSD while also supporting the creation of new strategies to win and execute future development programs. This position will be in Linthicum, MD.
This individual will lead a cross-discipline engineering team typically ranging from 5-25 people and interface with Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, System, Software and Mission Assurance.
This role can be worked hybrid (75 on site 25 remote) must reside in the local area
Typical Responsibilities Include:
Lead and direct cross-functional engineering teams during proposal, design, manufacturing, and delivery phases of products in development and production phases
Support proposal development and new program acquisition efforts
Interpret statements of work assigned by program leadership
Develop and execute to project budgets and schedules, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs), and workload forecasts
Interface with functional departments to secure team staffing
Work with suppliers and be able to articulate project requirements
Brief internal and customer leadership on progress of work assigned
The selected candidate will perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings. The ideal candidate is expected to be self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or STEM-related discipline with 14 or more years of experience, or 12 years with a Masters Degree and 9 years of experience with a Ph.D.
Managed $100M+ as Hardware IPT lead on Non-recurring Engineering development program, excluding materials
Demonstrate strong leadership skills and be able effectively brief customers and employees, possess strong interpersonal skills
Domain expertise in defense electronic systems
Experience in CAM (Cost Account Manager)
Work experience and/or exposure to supply chain, manufacturing, and suppliers
Experience with Mission Systems and/or Space Systems Hardware Design Process
Experience in business capture engagement and proposals
Experience in systems development, integration, and test
Experience in product leadership across multiple engineering areas such as RF, Electrical, Digital, Power, Mechanical, Antenna and Embedded Processing
US Citizenship
MUST have an Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Top Secret security clearance with SCI.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in STEM or technical management
Experience in fixed price contract proposals
Experience as SME, Technical lead, Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, or other engineering leadership role in a program office that demonstrated team building, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Experience in Agile hardware programs
Experience directly managing or leading engineering teams
Support on product line development and technical roadmaps
Expertise understanding of the Design, Manufacturing, and Test process
Problem-solving experience in a team environment
Active TS/SCI with counterintelligence polygraph
Salary Range: $174,800 - $262,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
