Software Engineer
Manassas, VA
Contract Position
This position is supporting the next generation in developing mission critical systems for our national defense. You would be a part of creating the most effective and state of the art technologies for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance supporting the Army, Navy, Air Force, Special Forces, and other Federal Government agencies working with our military.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the research, development, and integration of cybersecurity software for the US Navy.
- Design and architect software components in Java, C, C++, and Python to meet program requirements.
- Manage a small development team, assigning tasks, setting deadlines, and conducting code reviews.
- Organize and lead an agile Scrum team with two-week sprints.
- Communicate technical and programmatic issues to management.
- Integrate COTS and GOTS tools, including open-source products and APIs, to develop multi-tier solutions.
- Participate in technical and program meetings, and research new technologies for Navy adoption.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or related field (Science, Engineering, or Mathematics). Master’s degree preferred.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
- Experience: 2+ years of software development experience or a Master’s degree with relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle, configuration management, and writing production-quality software.
- Proficient in Java (JAVAFX), Spring, C/C++, and Python in a Linux environment (Red Hat or derivatives preferred).
- Experience leading a small software development team and working with DevOps/Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes), hypervisor-based virtualization, and cybersecurity best practices.
