Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Quality Engineer to join our team in Sunnyvale, CA. We design, manufacture, and test hardware for Marine Systems.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide subject matter expertise implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (DMAIC), Root Cause analysis and Corrective Action analysis, and other CI activities.
- Track corrective actions plans and cases to closure in a collaborated effort with the CAR Owner.
- Define improvement projects and implement continuous improvement programs and initiatives.
- Facilitate improvement teams to solve complex technical problems utilizing DMAIC or related problem solving methodologies.
Audit quality systems and perform risk assessments for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable requirements.
- Perform Surveillance Audits based on risk assessments and report on corrective measures to meet acceptable requirements.
- Establish and measure key indicators to assess project success and transition successful outcomes to program teams.
- Perform statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
- Works with Management and provides summary level briefings.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in STEM discipline.
- 8+ years of experience within one or more of the following areas: Mission Assurance, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering, or equivalent expertise
- Possess Six-Sigma Green-Belt experience or working towards Certification
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. US Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Mechanical, or Systems Engineering
- Six Sigma Black-Belt Certified.
- Experience with Minitab or equivalent Statistical Software
- ISO9000/AS9100 audit experience
- Possess a current Secret Clearance
Salary Range: $120,900 - $181,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
