BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or math
- 5+ years of experience in engineering test, integration, or flight operations (industry internships and project teams qualify)
- 5+ years of experience in technical project management and/or systems engineering (industry internships and project teams qualify)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and deliver reliable and expeditious results across multiple parallel priorities
- Highly detail oriented, hardworking, and professional with excellent written and verbal technical communication skills
- Strong penchant for innovation in process improvement and system design
- Positive, “can-do” attitude, self-starter, and ability to work in a high pace, dynamic environment
- Real time operations experience on a system that has high consequences in the event of failure
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role working through design requirements, test acceptance, verification, and operations
- Experience with U.S. government operations and planning practices, or intelligence analytics processes
- Previous experience in one or more of the following fields:
- Avionics
- Software systems and networks
- Orbital mechanics
- Communication systems
- Orbit and attitude dynamics
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Active Top Secret or Top Secret SCI clearance preferred. Must be willing to pursue a clearance if not already cleared. Note that an active clearance may provide the opportunity for you to work on sensitive SpaceX missions. If so, you will be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing
- Must pass DoD level background checks for entry into various government facilities
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- Flexibility required including night shift and weekend work when necessary to support operations and critical project timelines
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range:
Sr Mission Operations Engineer: $125,000-175,000/per year.
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Those with an active clearance will receive a 10% differential, up to an additional $15,000 annually, once officially briefed into a classified program.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
