Exciting Opportunity withinthe Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) organization!
TheCNS organization designs, builds, and maintains some of the worlds most valuedsafety systems within the Aerospace industry. The product line spans from Radar, Ground Proximity Warning Systems, Instrumented Landing Systems,Communication, Datalink and Navigation Radios, RF, Transponders, Traffic CollisionAvoidance Systems and Radar Altimeters.
As a Sr Advanced Hardware Engineer, withinthe Traffic and Surveillance Avionics product group in the (CN&S) Communication, Navigationand Surveillance COE, you will play a critical role in delivering high qualityproducts for commercial Avionics, TCAS (Traffic Collision Avoidance Systems), Transponder and Integrated Surveillance Systems. This role will collaborate with Design and production teams in Olathe, KS and Phoenix, AZ responsible for supporting Design, Development, electronic test, and advanced manufacturing engineering of cutting-edge avionics technologies.
Key Responsibilities- This position will fulfill a Design Engineering role, supporting both the Olathe production site on hardware design improvements and new Hardware Designs for Traffic and Surveillance Avionics products with Design teams
- Lead Hardware Design efforts, while supporting manufacturing on RCCAs to improved factory first pass yields.
- Support Design efforts on the development of new products
- Guide the development process and create artifacts that meet FAA/EASA requirements.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in hardware engineering and apply them to product designs
- Support Honeywell Leadership and Honeywell customer meetings
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization
YOU MUST HAVE- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in hardware development, electrical or system level engineering or hardware systems experience
WE VALUE- Understanding of a variety of hardware engineering standards and specifications
- Strong knowledge of hardware design principles and methodologies
- Strong knowledge of product and process technologies or broad knowledge of multiple product and process technologies
- Aerospace Industry experience or related is of value (knowledge of TCAS, Transponder, RF, Integrated Surveillance Systems, GPS, Avionics or related products plus)
- Experience with oversight of hardware Qualification testing
- Experience with resolving production related issues
- Ability to communicate project status and technical concepts with Management and Customers
- Ability to consistently demonstrate business impact and continuous drive for improvement
- Lead factory interface and product introduction
