Principal: $186,150 - $251,850
We are seeking Electrical Engineers with strong electronic backgrounds and experience in low TRL (Technology Readiness Level) development hardware and programs involving FPGAs, ASICs, CMOS, and unique PWB technologies for work on next generation disruptive technologies and developmental research systems within the Aerospace and Defense sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the transformation of early stage "napkin sketch" concepts into groundbreaking aerospace and defense technologies, driving innovation from initial idea through to advanced development.
- Develop, document, analyze, and test operational, functional, and environmental requirements for non-recurring development research systems.
- Decompose requirements and technology from system to subsystem to unit levels.
- Design architectures and oversee the development of electronics on brassboards or engineering models.
- Leverage advanced, agile-based Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods and tools to perform complex analysis and trade studies, evaluating Key Performance Parameters from design and manufacturing process definition to product development, supporting technology from concept definition to demonstration.
- Lead systems engineering efforts from conceptual design to technology readiness, including requirements development, architecture definition, and design definition for various demonstrations to establish technology readiness and identify long-lead development needs for near-term demonstration systems.
- Identify, coordinate, and communicate requirements, functional threads, and interfaces for incorporation into system architecture, modeling environment, and system physical design.
- Integrate developing technologies with larger system concepts, determining impacts on interfaces, integration techniques, manufacturability, and integrated system testing.
- Innovate and oversee development and maintenance of new tools and processes.
- Execute analysis and performance budget planning, and roll-up from individual contributors and subject matter experts.
- Define functional architecture and modeling needs, coordinating efforts with functional architecture and modeling/simulation teams to meet deliverable test, verification, and validation dates.
- Develop innovative techniques to validate analytical models and performance budgets, defining experiments and test methodologies.
- Support and lead customer engagement for technologies under research and development.
