The Secure Communication System (SCS) program has been providing secure network solutions to Defence and Government customers for over a decade. The product suite provides easy to use and intuitive remote access connectivity to enterprise networks from anywhere in the world, utilising public and private network bearers to simultaneously access multiple classified domains.
Your Role
As a Software Engineer, you are integral to our technological advancement, tasked with designing, developing, and debugging application software and systems that address intricate challenges through logical and mathematical solutions. You will engage in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and hardware engineers, pushing the boundaries of electronic data processing systems for both products and commercial applications. Your role includes analysing user needs and system capabilities to deliver robust, efficient, and scalable software solutions. Additionally, you will develop essential components like firmware, utility programs, and operating systems, all while upholding the highest software standards.
You are also responsible for drafting detailed operating instructions, debugging complex programs, and refining output requirements and programming techniques. Regular testing and revisions to ensure software alignment with strategic goals and customer expectations are key, as is your contribution to areas such as cybersecurity and systems engineering.
About You
You are a seasoned Software Developer with substantial expertise in Linux systems and a strong aptitude for thriving in dynamic, agile team environments. You have a solid grasp of software development principles and have demonstrated your proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, C, or C++. Your educational background likely includes a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, possibly enhanced by relevant industry certifications.
Your skill set includes expert version control practices using GIT and a proficiency in employing agile methodologies to produce high-quality software solutions. You place a high value on rigorous testing, comprehensive documentation, and the maintainability of your work. A collaborative spirit, creativity, and critical thinking are among your strongest attributes, allowing you to solve complex problems and drive innovation effectively. This role calls for someone eager to contribute to cutting-edge projects, ensuring that software solutions not only meet but surpass the evolving demands of the global security and technology landscapes.
