What we do:
The Sr. Powertrain Systems Engineer is responsible for developing electric propulsion systems. You will help develop and deliver the powertrain strategy from requirements to the physical product.
What you can do:
- Development of trade studies around key design decisions
- Development of the safety cases, verification strategies, and risk mitigations of the powertrain
- Implement and test the design of the powertrain system, and evaluate performance
- Stay up to date with, and implement the latest developments in your field
- Continuous improvement of processes to increase safety and efficiency
- Implement testing and develop test plans
- Prepare Certification Design Compliance Reports with Airworthiness concepts and processes
- Partner with PMO organization to implement build plan
- Up to 10 of domestic and international travel
- Other duties as assigned
What you can contribute
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Sciences required; Masters or PhD degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years experience in electric powertrains
- Experience in aviation or EV industry in powertrain, DC motors, or Invertors
- Strong proficiency in some or all of: Systems Engineering, CAD, FEA, motor design, or motor control software, numerical modeling and dynamic simulation of complex systems
- Experience with ARP4754, ARP4761, DO-178, DO-254, and other relevant standards
You may also contribute:
- Minimum 1 year experience in an aircraft development program preferred
- Familiarity with eVTOL certification regulations
- Experience with powertrain simulation
- Preferred experience in rotorcrafts, large drones, or EV industries
