Overview of the Role:

As a Repair Engineer II, you will be pivotal in maintaining the airworthiness of aircraft and components. You will leverage your expertise to develop structural repairs based on sound engineering principles, ensuring compliance with OEM, FAA, and airline guidelines. Youll work closely with mechanics, manufacturers, and other stakeholders to restore aircraft to service swiftly and safely. This role empowers you to contribute significantly to the companys commitment to high-quality maintenance services.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop structural repairs for aircraft using engineering principles and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate directly with mechanics to devise effective solutions that meet regulatory standards and expedite aircraft return to service.
  • Engage with aircraft manufacturers and third-party design centers to create robust repair strategies.
  • Provide substantiation for the engineering soundness of repairs and communicate solutions effectively.
  • Produce technical drawings and repair plans using CAD software.
  • Interpret and apply information from various aircraft manuals and design documents.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA and international airworthiness regulations in engineering documentation.
  • Offer technical guidance and mentor less experienced staff, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
  • Approve engineering documents within authorized signatory boundaries.
  • Volunteer for roles that ensure program schedules remain on track.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, with five (5) years or more of relevant aerospace experience preferred; OR eight (8) years of equivalent aircraft repair experience required.
  • Proficiency in using Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of structural repair manuals and regulatory requirements for airworthiness (FAA, EASA).
  • Ability to conduct basic stress analysis and develop creative repair solutions.
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite, MyBoeingFleet, and AirbusWorld.
  • Ability to communicate assertively and effectively, both written and verbally.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Openness to learning, receiving feedback, and collaborating with diverse teams.
