Location Profile:
PCC Fluid Fittings Gardena designs and manufactures separable and permanent fluid fittings and installation tooling for aerospace and defense applications. PCC Fluid Fittings, owned by PCC, is a multi-national business with plants in France, Mexico, and China. The products manufactured by PCC Fluid Fittings fly on all types of commercial and military aircraft, and much of the product was designed and qualified in-house. PCC Fluid Fittings continues to maintain status as a cognizant engineering authority on the performance and application of those fittings within the industry. PCC Fluid Fittings also takes great pride in its concurrent engineering approach to design and manufacturing, and great-focus is placed on operating safely, productively, at a high quality-level, and profitably.
Position Summary:
The co-op student will work on projects and will have responsibilities to supplement their knowledge and experience in the Engineering field. The projects and assignments will become increasingly challenging with each subsequent rotation. Our goal is to provide an effective learning experience.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Applying principles learned in school to hands-on situations, such as process and product design
- Having responsibility for accomplishing performance goals
- Receiving progressive responsibility in process and /or product engineering throughout your co-op experience
- Identifying and recommending process improvements for specified projects.
- Attending regular departmental meetings
- Attend training sessions, symposiums, and other appropriate educational opportunities
- Performing or reviewing systems analysis, testing, and documentation for existing processes
- Taking ownership and responsibility for identified projects
- Participating on project teams for assigned projects; analyze improvements and new product or applications and develop requirements and specifications with team
- Working within specifications provided to meet project goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner
- Participating with peers, project team members, and other departments on new product development, product line extensions, and product enhancements
Qualifications:
- Must be able to accept position as a minimum of 3-month full time assignment or part-time (20+hours/week) for a minimum of 6 months
- Must be enrolled full-time in an accredited residential college or university (not on-line university)
- Must be at least sophomore level working towards a bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, mechanical or other related fields of study
- Zero to 2 years of related experience and / or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Junior level working towards a bachelor&39;s degree in relevant field of study
- Manufacturing and/or Aerospace experience
- Prior engineering internship(s)
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of related engineering discipline functional and technical skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Access
- Good writing skills and interpersonal skills
- US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident
Experience & Education
Full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Aerospace, Mechanical, or other related fields of study.
