What You Will Do;
Core Manufacturing Engineering in the Operational Excellence organization is hiring a Program Chief Manufacturing Engineer to support operational commercial engine programs. The selected candidate will be integrated to the Operations team and will act as the technical liaison between engineering, program, and operations. Using updated Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) standard work, this employee will be responsible for identifying and mitigating manufacturing and operational risk and ensuring adequate analysis of various configurations and technology insertion projects and their associated risks.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in a high technology, advanced program environment incorporating the latest manufacturing readiness assessment tools. They will partner with engineering to evaluate the manufacturing risks related to engine design changes and quality improvements. The ideal candidate will provide recommended manufacturing process alternatives based on improved manufacturability and producibility. This resource will have a key role in refining and improving MRL standard work as it applies to operational programs.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Manufacturing Readiness Level status/progression of one or more engine programs
- Aggregate program operational risks, engage with operations module centers to create mitigation plans, and leverage CIPT and IPMT for additional resources when necessary
- Partner with production chiefs and engineering CIPTs to identify product changes and appropriate MRL scope and application
- Engage Manufacturing Fellows for process specific expertise and risk assessment
- Coach teams on the latest manufacturing readiness assessment tools and aid in process analysis for tools in the 5-10 MRL range
- Partner with module center technology managers to identify technology insertion opportunities
- Identify estimated cost of program changes including, but not limited to, capital equipment, staffing, and tooling
- Collaborate with Core ME team to improve existing manufacturing readiness standard work and business processes
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (manufacturing, industrial, mechanical) or related technical field
- 10+ years of relevant manufacturing experience
- Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes, capabilities, PW products, PFMEA, and process control
- Up to 20 travel may be required
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across organizations

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
