Summary:
The Sustaining Engineering Team Lead will develop and lead up to 10 engineers in the crucial task of maintaining and enhancing our existing product portfolio of electrical power distribution components and systems. The team will be the driving force behind the continued success and customer satisfaction of our products throughout their lifecycle. In this pivotal role, the Sustaining Engineering Team Lead will be responsible for orchestrating the teams efforts to ensure product sustainability, reliability, performance, and quality, all while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation in alignment with the Safran Guiding Principles.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
•tTeam Management and reports:
otLead, mentor and develop a multi-site team of sustaining engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and technical support.
otDefine and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of sustaining engineering activities and overall product health.
otProvide regular reports to senior management on the status of ongoing product maintenance and improvement efforts.
•tProduct Maintenance:
otCollaborate with cross-functional teams including design, quality assurance, supply chain, programs and customer support, to prioritize and address product sustainability (material obsolescence, shortages, etc.).
otDrive the development and implementation of engineering solutions to enhance product reliability, stability, and performance.
otProvide timely support to the electronics labs as assigned by management and participate in the communication with the authorities (DLA, NAVAIR, FAA).
•tProduct Enhancement:
otCollaborate with product management and R&D teams to identify opportunities for product improvements and optimizations.
otManage the introduction of engineering changes and updates to existing products, while minimizing disruption to customers and stakeholders.
•tRoot Cause Analysis:
otLead investigations into complex technical issues, conducting and documenting thorough root cause analysis to identify underlying problems and systemic trends.
otDevelop strategies to prevent recurring issues by addressing underlying causes and implementing long-term corrective actions.
•tVendor and Supplier Collaboration:
otCollaborate with external suppliers and vendors to address component obsolescence, supply chain issues, and other challenges affecting product availability.
otEvaluate and onboard new suppliers as needed to ensure a robust and reliable supply chain.
•tDocumentation and Processes:
otEnsure accurate and up-to-date technical documentation is maintained for all products, including design specifications, troubleshooting guides, and maintenance procedures.
otPromote the use of standardized engineering practices and documentation methodologies and ensure processes and industry best practices are adhered to.
Job Requirements:

Education and/or Experience
o\tBachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
o\tMinimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role in a relevant technical field.
o\tStrong technical background in understanding product design, production processing and troubleshooting.
o\tExperience with root cause analysis methodologies and product/process improvement initiatives accompanied with the ability to implement data-driven decisions.
o\tFamiliarity with industry regulations, quality standards, and best practices.
Knowledge/Skills:
o\tProven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with schedule constraints.
o\tSkilled in maintaining cross-organizational collaboration to ensure successful task completion.
o\tExperience in employing root cause analysis methodologies and driving process improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
o\tDemonstrated written and verbal communication skills, enabling successful interaction with cross-functional teams and customers.
o\tProficiency in resource allocation, project management, and scheduling to ensure efficient utilization of available resources.
o\tAbility to deliver engaging and informative presentations that convey complex technical concepts with clarity.
o\tCompetency in developing, tracking, and budgeting project plans, ensuring the successful execution of initiatives.
o\tStrong knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Excel
