Develop an understanding of technical systems and components to ensure product reliability and safety.
- Review complex technical product/component maintenance/repair data for accuracy and applicability. Perform engineering analysis to verify (e.g., using tabletop, virtual computer simulations, physical enactment of the maintenance procedure) the technical product/component maintenance/repair data to ensure integrity of the data.
- Initiate and guide people and processes to develop and provide technical solutions to customers (e.g. maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities;), to optimize their operations, and resolve emergent needs. Approve the preferred solution to customer technical issues that assure product integrity and safety. Research, analyze, and develop new maintenance solutions based on design review and analysis of recurring product support data utilizing engineering expertise. Make recommendations to the customer on courses of action.
- Maintain currency with quality, safety, operations, engineering, and other processes and procedures to ensure the standards are met and maintained throughout all aspects of weapons system maintenance under your area of responsibility. Identify gaps, potential or realized escapes, and nonconformances and address as appropriate using your knowledge of engineering and maintenance principles and practices.
