The Network Engineer I is a hands-on technical position that will work on LAN / WAN implementation and supporting issues in a complex corporate network environment. As part of the Corporate Network Services team, this position will participate in all day-to-day activities and project goals in a Cisco based environment. Technical responsibilities include providing design, implementation & support of WLAN, LAN, MPLS WAN and VOIP telecommunications infrastructure across multiple and various sites nation wide. As a technical specialist, this position will be required to provide resolution guidance to the other CNS team members for advanced systems design, problem resolution and project management. Network/systems security will be a heavily emphasized set of responsibilities for this position, including but not limited to intrusion detection & digital rights management. Will help lead and actively participate in projects supporting network and telecommunications infrastructure implementations and enhancements. Coordinates with local IT POC’s to ensure strategic alignment and governance compliance. Determines appropriateness of moderate equipment changes or modifications to provide a high level of security according to network service level agreement.
The SNC Information Technology Operations is looking to hire a Network Engineer I to support our our wide area and local area networks. This position is located out of our Englewood, CO office and will provide hands on support across all of our Denver area and Colorado Springs locations.
As SNCs corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.
Responsibilities:
- Network troubleshooting including WLAN, LAN, and WAN.
- Configuration of Cisco switches, wireless access points, routers, and firewalls.
- Provide networking support and expert knowledge to business areas.
- Coordinate with multiple disperse teams on project to ensure successful project completion.
- Demonstrate working knowledge in networking protocols, including but not limited to BGP and OSPF.
- Effectively communicate issues and solutions with customers and other internal ITO staff.
Must-haves:
- Bachelors Degree in a related field with at least 0-2 or more years of relevant experience
- Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Basic understanding of network protocols
Preferred:
- Cisco CCNA
- Hands-on experience with a wide variety of network related tools, concepts, technologies, best practices and security procedures
- Hands-on experience with network hardware, protocols, and media including but not limited to Fiber Optics, UTP, 802. 11, VOIP
Estimated Starting Salary Range: $68,926.06 - $94,773.33. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
