Defines and monitors mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs across the Highfield facility. Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements. Assesses program performance and risks and determines resources to ensure mission assurance. Functional responsibilities include EHS, Software Assurance and Quality Assurance.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership that fosters an inclusive, motivated and engaged work culture. Driving the continuous improvement of people (to include training & development), products, processes, systems and services through the application of innovative technologies, lean principles, six-sigma projects, common best practices and other appropriate tools and techniques.
- Manage in-process inspections (including closeouts) and final inspections process for product in the work center, as defined by contract requirements.
- Monitor the manufacturing build process for conformance to prescribed requirements both internal and external.
- Use standard visual and mechanical inspection techniques and tools
- Interact with both internal and external customers on a variety of technical solutions
- Review drawings, drawing notes, drawing call outs and other technical data and provide feedback per quality assurance perspective
- Manage and monitor all nonconformance activity and provide support the MRB/FRB process and also in ensuring proper actions are taken to determine root cause and implement appropriate corrective actions and verification of effectiveness.
- Function as the Safety overseer in absence of Safety Assurance and is responsible for meeting the requirements for witnessing all hazardous operation steps in the WI, MES Plan or Procedure.
- Manage the Leans List (generated and maintained by QA), such that all major problems with the documentation or the as-built configuration of the S/C are known and corrected prior to milestone events.
- Monitor all configuration changes and authorize Test Deviations, TRRs, MRR’s, CTP forms and all other supporting documentation, when needed.
- Ensure the Inspection Characteristics are reviewed in a timely manner as part of any in-process inspections and issue the acceptance tags for closure of SAP steps (A/R) during the Final Inspection process, in accordance with the program quality plan.
- Ensure quality records are archived and properly closed in SAP in accordance with the program quality plan.
- Ensures that QME performance and quality conform to established contract and company requirements.
- Reviews, analyzes and report on quality discrepancies related to QME level performance, key performance indicator metrics and process metrics.
- Provides proactive support to identify potential issues and concerns. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.
- Support internal assessments, lab sweeps, and audits.
- Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in a STEM discipline + 8 years of exp; Masters + 6 years of exp; PhD + 3 years of exp.
- ACTIVE Top Secret clearance at the time of application.
- Experience in Mission Assurance, Quality, Quality Engineering, Program Management, Engineering Management or Manufacturing.
- Three (3) + years of leadership experience.
- Experience with manufacturing control system such as SAP, Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Lean and Statistical Process Control concepts.
- Experience with Space Programs and customer interaction
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System certification process.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three (3) + years of experience with Space Programs
- Five (5) + years of experience managing teams.
- Possess ACTIVE Top Secret/SCI security clearance
- Experience working with suppliers and inspecting supplier hardware.
- Experience with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System Auditing
- Experience with represented workforce
- Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification to drive continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to apply strong analytical skills.
- Have participated in Material Review Board (MRB) adjudication for programs.
- Experience with technical and project management.
- Have conducted training for personnel
- Proposal experience
- Experience in adjudicating hardware manufacturing issues
- Have functioned as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)
- Proven ability to be resourceful, well-organized, able to multi-task and coordinate assignments.

Salary Range: $131,800 - $197,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
