SUMMARY:
The liaison engineer should be responsible to the Director, Engineering for all engineering, services and technical assistance related to airplane heavy maintenance and upgrade activities. The engineer will be trained by the Lead Engineer or other engineering staff to perform the tasks as listed below.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate with production departments to evaluate the required engineering assistance.
- Provide drawings, repair schemes and Engineering Authorization (EA) for the required repairs.
- Communicate with airframe/engine manufacturers and customers for technical advice and approval related to the repair work.
- Follow up with Production Department for the implementation of the proposed repair schems/EA’s. Make changes or revisions to the EA’s or repair schemes to facilitate the repair work.
- Provide engineering support for aircraft structural repairs and upgrades.
- Provide daily Engineering status for work progress.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
SUPERVISION: The incumbent normally performs the duty assignment at his or her discretion and is limited only by policies set by administrative or legislative authority. Total end results determine the effectiveness of job performance.
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS: A strong level of interpersonal skill is required to maintain an effective relationship among employees, various departments, management, the public and customer representatives.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Essential responsibilities are performed in a climate controlled office but not limited to the office. Must be able to cope with stress and mental exhaustion due to the pressures of accomplishing set goals, meeting short deadlines, maintaining numerous projects simultaneously, employee confrontations and long work hours.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: B.S. Degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace or aeronautical engineering.
