Reporting to Regional Manager, Line Maintenance – LATAM, The Lead AME is capable of performing all the functions of an aircraft maintenance engineer. Also capable of planning, coordinating, directing and executing all aspects of daily production of the aircraft line maintenance environment. The Lead AME has the ability to satisfactorily direct the work of others and is responsible and accountable for the production and for the assigned area of responsibility. 

Responsibilities:

Planning, coordinating, directing and executing daily work.Direct work during LM checks and special LM visits, engine change crew which requires coordination and assignment of a group of employees.Able to satisfactorily provide leadership and is responsible and accountable to the Team Leader of production, operation and AW oversight.Assisting in the development of, and being accountable to, the production plan.Resolving material, tooling and engineering issues affecting the plan.Estimating and defining the planned repair.Assigning and directing the work of maintenance personnel.Ensuring airworthiness and safety policies, processes and standards are adhered to.Ensuring work safety standards are followed.Ensuring aircraft and related maintenance records are complete as per ACM Control Manual.Exercising ownership of their area of responsibility.Mentoring, training and coaching of maintenance personnel.Ensuring adequate hand off information is provided to personnel in MOC and to those on the next shift.Ensuring a safe and tidy workplace.Actively participating in projects and supporting Regional Manager in the development of new, smarter processes and procedures to improve efficiency and performance of operation.

Technician/College degree in aircraft maintenance, mechanics, or electronics.Minimum 7 years of proven aircraft maintenance experience, Boeing fleet experience preferable.Previous experience in leading or supervising others is an asset.Possession of a Brazil ANAC CHT CEL+GMP+AVI or a Transport Canada AME M2 license is Mandatory.Must have exercised the privileges of the Brazilian license for at least 2 years, applicable for the ANAC holders.Must qualify to hold an Aircraft Certifying Authority under a Transport Canada approved maintenance organization.Possession of valid Brazilian driver license.Able to successfully pass the pre-employment qualifying exam, physical and a security check as well.Ability to work in a team concept as well as stand-alone with focus on the team.Be available to work days, evenings or nights including weekends and holidays. Proficiency with PC (MS Office).Must be able to obtain Airport badge pass.Must hold a valid passport.Good verbal and written communication skills.Employees in this role, conduct safety-critical work and as such, Air Canada medical standards must be met in order to qualify for the role.
