Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is searching for Industrial Engineer (Level 1 or 2) to support our Industrial Engineering Operations Management group (IEOM). The selected candidates will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on site in Beavercreek, OH to lead our manufacturing optimization efforts.
Role Overview:
In this role, you will work together with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to develop and refine production build schedules, implement cost-saving solutions and drive efficiency improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand frontline problems and implement cost-saving solutions.
- Utilize various Continuous Improvement tools to analyze shop floor practices and processes for opportunities to minimize scrap, reduce cost, increase capacity, and optimize schedule.
- Work with frontline leadership to assess current state and define future state possibilities.
- Provide tactics and training to frontline leaders and shop floor personnel to improve the current state and define future possibilities.
- Conduct studies and generate metrics pertaining to efficiency, cycle times, work-in-progress, manpower, cost performance, and product delivery.
- Partner with manufacturing management to develop and track recovery plans that instill confidence within program management and customers.
- Apply systems thinking in the development of metrics to improve product flow from the release of raw materials through product delivery.
- Provide capacity planning, rate tool analyses, and facility layouts to ensure the ongoing success of composite operations.

This requisition may be filled at an Industrial Engineer/Principal Industrial Engineer based on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications for Industrial Engineer Level 1:
- Bachelor in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and/or Microsoft Project)
- Ability to work on an assembly floor.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs.
Basic Qualifications for Industrial Engineer Level 2:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field with 2 years of experience in the following engineering filed; Manufacturing, Aerospace, Mechanical, Nuclear, Project Management, Industrial, Systems or Process Engineering OR Masters in STEM with 0 years of experience in mentioned fields.
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and/or Microsoft Project)
- Ability to work on an assembly floor.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Secret DOD clearance and Special Program Access
- 1-2 years experience in excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables.
- 1-2 years experience with Microsoft Project (Gantt charts)
- Experience with data analysis, or data visualization tools.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.

Salary Range: $59,600 - $89,400
Salary Range 2: $72,100 - $108,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
