Equipment and Process Engineer (Full Time)

Essential Job Functions
Perform problem solving, continuous improvement implementations, and enhance production capabilities for equipment, processes, and production design functions for all areas of manufacturing.Research equipment purchasing and interface with vendors.Act as liaison between design and manufacturing related departments.
Research, justify, select, and purchase capital equipment and/or processes.
Learn to operate capital equipment purchased.
Troubleshoot material and manufacturing equipment and process problems.
Optimize work sequencing and workflow through machines/work centers.
Determine make versus buy decisions changing production methods to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Coordinate outsourcing of parts.
Conceptualize tooling and fabrication designs.
Develop and issue Manufacturing Engineering policies and procedures.
Keep abreast of latest technologies in Manufacturing Engineering.
Provide budgeting information and project updates/status to management.
Perform other related duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.May lead continuous improvement projects and be required to train and assist other employees, along with providing cross functional project management support.

Education
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred. Computer aided drafting (CAD), Unigraphics II, Microsoft Project and Office computer program literacy, and experience using calipers, micrometers, and measuring equipment are required to perform the duties of this position. Certifications related to production center equipment, project management, lean methodologies, or advanced engineering degree are a plus.
Experience
Five (5) or more years of experience of the following:
Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering- preferably in the aerospace industry
Production machining, material forming, assembly, and process flow
Experience with process instrumentation and controls
Experience with electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics and overhead lifting/cranes
Familiar with OSHA rules and regulations and standard safety practices
Operating equipment in a production center and knowledge of lean methodologies preferred
