Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Mission Assurance Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located on-site in Beavercreek, Ohio.
The Mission Assurance Engineer is a key contributor to the entire project lifecycle. You will review and incorporate customer requirements into the manufacturing and procurement processes to support delivery of compliant product. You will support design qualification through first article planning and reporting, providing inputs to Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews, and performing peer reviews of manufacturing instructions and test procedures. You will perform internal process audits, and support core quality functions. You will work closely with all functions of the organization, and within Integrated Product Teams to identify and solve problems and improve processes.
Responsibilities:
- Write procedures and quality inspection documents, review manufacturing planning for proper incorporation of design requirement verifications
- Analyze nonconformance data to identify and resolve process deficiencies and provide recommendations for improvement and MRB reduction
- Work with a team to reduce Cost of Poor Quality through innovation and process improvements using LEAN strategies
- Lead corrective action activities and reports findings to program and CAB meetings
- Support internal audits, process observations and area assessments
- Collaborate and partner with cross functions and programs, customers, program management, and other support organizations
- Ensure flow down of customer and industry requirements to suppliers
- Partner with customers to achieve goals and deliver to requirements
The ideal candidate takes ownership of their role within the organization, identifying and completing tasks with minimal oversight and direction. Our team is collaborative and highly interactive with other engineering groups and customers. You will be supported in your efforts to improve processes / procedures and encouraged to take calculated risks to achieve project goals while learning from and regarding mistakes as opportunities to improve.
This is a full time exempt, on-site position. Our team works a 9/80 schedule, which gives you every other Friday off to pursue passions outside of the office.
You must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance for this position, qualified candidates will be submitted through company procedures after offer acceptance.
This role may be filled at an Engineer or Principal Engineer level depending on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications:
Engineer
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of relevant work experience or Master’s degree and 0+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience incorporating inspection requirements into manufacturing processes
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Principal Engineer
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience or Master’s degree and 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience incorporating inspection requirements into manufacturing processes
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of GD&T
- Experience working to an AS9100 certified Quality Management System
- Knowledge of Root Cause / Corrective Action methods
- Ability to maintain process or program quality metrics
- Active DoD Secret clearance
Salary Range: $79,300 - $118,900
Salary Range 2: $97,500 - $146,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
