Position Summary
The Engineer Interiors and Technology is responsible for technical accuracy and reliability of Aircraft Interior systems, Aircraft Inflight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFE&C) systems, and their associated components.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, direct and/or perform engineering assignments involving specifications for, and design changes or alterations to the aircraft interior configuration, IFE&C, components and equipment furnishings
- Establish build specifications and administers configuration control for interior components, IFE&C components and equipment furnishings
- Develop and obtain regulatory approval for technical data required for modifications/repairs of equipment furnishings and components
- Review and action Airworthiness Directives to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
- Review Technical Directives such as Service Bulletins, Service Letters etc. for applicability, system reliability and/or economic benefits
- Implement design changes as required to meet airline/departmental objectives and management directives
- Demonstrate compliance with all applicable regulations for modification/repairs pertaining to area of responsibility
- Establish and maintain configuration and standard of exterior and interior graphics
- Assist in the evaluation and planning for new aircraft and equipment
- Develop customized procedures and special criteria for repairs, modifications, inspections, servicing and other maintenance actions
- Ensure reliability performance standards are maintained
- Conduct root cause analysis for systems and components to determine remedies for wear, malfunctions or premature removals
- Evaluate new methods, materials and equipment which may provide cost benefits and take action to incorporate justified changes
