Job Description:
A vacancy for an Certification and Qualification Engineer (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Helicopters in Marignane.
Within the Airworthiness Department, the R&T/UAS Section is responsible for leading the Certification and Qualification activities necessary to meet the development and deliveries milestones (new and retrofit) of the R&T programmes and UAS programmes.
In this context, the mission of the Certification/Qualification Engineer is to establish and demonstrate compliance of Airbus Helicopters products to the applicable airworthiness requirements, to ensure their safe flight capability during development phase and later in-service safety. This results in a challenging cross-functional position, including negotiating internally but also with Aviation Authorities worldwide, with great responsibilities, and a good overview on our new innovating products (civil and military), on systems and on our organisation.
These activities mainly cover:
The initial Certification/Qualification of our products,
The Certification/Qualification of further steps (domain extension, new variant, etc.), and of Post-TC (after TC) design changes (including Technical Publications),
The serial prototype helicopters and demonstrators &34;Permit to Fly&34;,
The management of schedule and priorities for all these certification activities,
The support to deliveries,
The support to offers.

Your Challenges
In direct contact with an R&T/UAS Chief Engineer team, the different key contributors from the Design Office and Support Services, as well as with the Authorities (EASA, FAA, DGA, DGAC, etc.), your main missions will include:
A) Management of activities:
Allocating and coordinating R&T activities, according to Chief Engineer expectations, with Airworthiness Technical Department (when applicable),
Managing priorities internally and with Authorities,
Managing R&T related activities while ensuring that harmonised processes are used,
Following up and reporting on compliance demonstration activities progress, fixing hard points, and ensuring on time completion of the activities,
Contributing to the identification, definition and/or adaptation, as necessary, of the R&T related organisation or process evolutions,
Following up and contributing to regulation evolution in coordination with Regulation & Policies Department,
Ensuring the interface with the change board management process.
B) Certification/Qualification activities:
Identifying and defining the applicable Certification/Qualification basis,
Defining the Certification/Qualification logic, establishing corresponding Plan, and potentially getting support from the Airworthiness Technical Department,
Validating compliance demonstrations proposed by the design office,
Leading the helicopter level certification/qualification activities: consolidating the results of the compliance demonstration and declaring compliance at helicopter level to support their delivery,
Establishing Flight Conditions Approval files, for demonstrators, prototypes and serial aircraft,
Approving design changes and flight conditions under DOA privilege,
Contributing to the identification of ways to use our DOA on new products like drones (in coordination with the AH DOA team),
Supporting, or leading as necessary, foreign validation approval according to delivery export need.
Your Profile
You will have the following skills and experience:
Educated to 5-year degree level in Engineering,
At least 3 to 5 years of overall experience,
Technical experience in Lead Function, technical support or in Project Management,
Certification/Qualification, Permit to Fly and Rulemaking processes basic knowledge
Good relationship and communication skills in an international context,
Synthetic, meticulous/structured way of working, dynamic and proactive,
French and English: negotiation level.
This position requires a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
