Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems sector is looking for a Director 1, Systems Test Engineering in our SDS Division. This leadership role is located in Roy, Utah. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
The System Test Team is responsible for process and procedure development, training content, delivery and effectivity metrics, overall employee development, as well as, organizational infrastructure for the Systems Test Directorate. This product team is responsible for enabling execution of test data and instrumentation, laboratory development, system integration, and laboratory testing of multiple Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) test lines during concurrent Integrated Functional Capability testing, as well as flight and ground test of the weapon system at multiple test locations including the Roy Innovation Center (RIC), and Vandenberg Space Force Base, performed at distributed test locations across the nation.

What You Will Get To Do:
Drive integration & test engineering execution across the SDS Division portfolio of programs while reporting into the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division’s Engineering and Manufacturing Operations organization.
- Lead a large team of cross discipline directors, managers, and professionals at various locations responsible for Test Engineering supporting a portfolio of mission critical programs
- Participate in establishing and direct the implementation of integrated test engineering processes across the SDS Division, driving consistency and implementation across program/product teams at all national locations and multiple subcontractor locations.
- Participate in establishing and direct the implementation of model-based digital engineering processes used in the design and development of the SDS Division, at all levels of decomposition.
- Manage all aspects of process development, training, and development across the Test Directorate
- Ensure test engineering product quality and consistency and manage auditing and oversight functions, including metrics development and management.
- Interface closely with the product/program team leadership and implement test engineering priorities for the team

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 10 year’s experience, or Master’s and 8 year’s experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries
- Must have 5 years in a formal engineering management / technical leadership experience
- Active Secret clearance adjudicated within the last 5 years
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Prior experience interfacing with prime contractor site leads and DoD leadership personnel
- Demonstrated success leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively work within a team environment
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance and applicable SAP accesses
Salary Range: $164,600 - $247,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
