The Opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia is facing increasing complexity in our programs to meet the needs of our customers. To address this challenge, we have invested in tools and processes for digital engineering, including model-based systems engineering (MBSE), digital twins, digital thread management and data analytics. We are seeking a technical expert to join our team and accelerate the implementation of digital engineering approaches to solve our customers problems.
Join our Joint Systems business unit in Brisbane where were commencing several programs that tackle complex Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4) problems for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
Responsibilities
- Develop the digital engineering approach for Defence programs, including development of digital engineering plans and processes
- Contribute directly to program deliverables
- Mentor and provide on-the-job training to colleagues to develop digital engineering skills
- Participate in multi-disciplinary communities of practice to share best practices and influence the evolution of Boeing tools and processes
- Collaborate with end users, customers, suppliers, and peer organizations to tailor Boeings digital engineering approaches to solve real-world problems.
Experience/Qualifications
- Have a systems engineering background with a mixture of architecture, design, and integration experience in complex defence technology programs -> we want someone who understand the implications of digital engineering approaches for the whole team
- Have experience in successfully applying MBSE and other digital engineering techniques to complex programs -> we want someone who can apply practical experience to our customers problems and promote different ways of thinking
- Enjoy helping others learn -> we want someone who loves building up an expert team around them
- Have extensive experience in tailoring UAF or like frameworks to solve specific problems -> we want someone who understands the textbooks and knows when not to follow them
- Have experience using MBSE modelling tools such as No Magic MagicDraw, Cameo, or Dassault Systems Magic System of Systems Architect -> we want someone who knows how to get the best out of tools, and when they wont help
