Description:We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a deep specialization in Composites to join our newly formed Production Engineering Program Assist Team here at Lockheed Martin Skunk Works. This pivotal role will serve as the Composite Subject Matter Expert (SME), offering critical guidance and support across multiple Advanced Development Programs.

What You Will Be Doing
As a trusted subject matter expert in composites manufacturing, your expertise in everything from tooling to fabrication to low observables, will assist you in thriving in this role. Beyond that, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Expertise in Composites: Lead as the go-to expert on composite materials, including resins, carriers, adhesives, and pre-impregnated materials. Provide comprehensive knowledge on honeycomb core materials and relevant specifications.
Manufacturing Processes: Oversee and refine processes such as ply cutting, kitting, tool preparation, bonding techniques, and curing methods. Ensure excellence in assembly bonding, bagging, autoclave and oven curing, and post-processing operations.
Tooling Development: Design and implement bonding fixtures and tooling for complex components, including vacuum ports, thermal couples, and assembly fixtures. Expertise in machine, drill, and assembly fixtures is crucial.
Complex Component Fabrication: Manage the fabrication of advanced components and assemblies, such as co-cured laminates, inlet ducts, and bonded assemblies with complex geometries and LO/RF requirements.
Low Observables (LO): Provide insights on Radar Cross Section (RCS) impacts, LO coatings, conductive fillers, and the effects of resin intrusion on LO/RF bonded assemblies.
Guidance and Training: Create and maintain a playbook of best practices and strategies for composite fabrication. Lead training sessions and knowledge transfer to enhance team capabilities.
Program Support: Participate in key program reviews (MRRs, INARs, PRRs) and contribute to the development of Technology Roadmaps in collaboration with Ops Tech.

Further Information About This Opportunity
This position is in Palmdale, CA  Discover Palmdale.
This position requires a candidate to have a secret clearance as it is located at a facility with special access and will occasionally travel to other sites as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
• Extensive hands on experience with Composite material types and properties, fabrication of complex components and assemblies, various manufacturing process, tooling and inspection techniques.
• Experience as a Lead for a Composite fabrication manufacturing engineering team or equivalent
• Experience working effectively with different engineering and production teams to guide and implement build/process requirements.
• Final Secret Clearance investigation within the last 5 years Required to Apply
• Bachelors Degree required
Desired Skills:
• Experience executing manufacturing processes in a Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) environment.
• Experience with the Siemens Xcelerator and/or the Dassault 3DX PLM ecosystems.
• Good written and verbal communication with experience in writing/presenting to executive leadership.
• Experience with Manufacturing Readiness Assessment (MRL/MRA) evaluating build/process maturity and AS6500.
• Demonstrated ability to drive closure and resolve complex, large-scale technical issues/challenges.
Experience with multiple aircraft program’s composite fabrication.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $134,000 - $256,900. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $154,100 - $290,400. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
