The North Berwick Engineering Center (NBEC) organization is responsible for engineering activities for hardware throughout the gas turbine including the Fan/Low Pressure Compressor, High Pressure Compressor, Combustor, Low Pressure Turbine, High Pressure turbine and Mechanical System modules across all of Pratt & Whitneys military and commercial products. NBEC is co-located with Pratt & Whitney’s largest manufacturing facility. This specific opportunity is for a co-op to participate with our team of commercial product turbine component designers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design assemblies and components to support new engine programs and improve current products.
- Execute engineering calculations throughout concept, preliminary, and final design phases.
- Work closely with manufacturing operations to ensure producible part designs.
- Work closely with manufacturing operations to disposition non-conforming material.
- Participate in IPT meetings to ensure success of product designs and engineering changes.
- Ensure compliance to Pratt and Whitneys Engineering Standard Work.

Basic Qualifications
- Enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Aerospace engineering, or a related field
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with manufacturing processes, aerospace design methods and procedures, and continuous improvement tools.
- Experience collaborating with a team to develop innovative ideas
- Experience communicating clear and effective messages to a broad audience

What is my role type?

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
