Position Summary
The Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer based in Perth, Australia is responsible for the day-to-day tasks assigned to them by the Chief Engineer and the standard of maintenance for which they certify, and to ensure that the company’s policies, procedures and practices are applied by themselves and personnel under their supervision to ensure Textron Aviation operates in a safe, compliant and efficient manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Comply with and maintain an understanding of the Textron Aviation manuals suite and the procedures contained within it;
• Ensure the policies, procedures and instructions published by the Company are adhered to;
• Hold safety as a core value and contribute to the achievement of a zero harm and incident/injury free environment through active participation in all safety programs relevant to the position;
• Report all safety related matters in accordance with the Safety Management System (SMS) and make appropriate recommendations to improve safety, productivity and efficiency;
• Supervise unqualified maintenance personnel;
• Ensure all Aircraft related certification paperwork is completed accurately and in compliance with the system of certification and within Company and CASA deadlines;
• Ensure all Maintenance Releases issued are in accordance with the release instructions;
• Clear, concise and accurate written reports in logs, inspection reports and in parts identification for issue and return documents;
• Perform a variety of diagnostic and mechanical duties on one or more aircraft models involving diagnosis of malfunctions and required disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, reassembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems to prepare aircraft mechanically for flight and delivery to customer;
• Have sound knowledge of annual and progressive inspection procedures set forth in aircraft maintenance manuals;
• Perform duties in a manner consistent with the latest state of the art and highest standards of safety for maintaining aircraft in the most airworthy and reliable condition for the customers safety.
• Certify for maintenance activities within delegated authority
• Observe and comply with all standards and procedures contained within the Civil Aviation Safety Authority Regulations, as well as individual aircraft systems and maintenance;
• Ensure all maintenance and repairs are carried out to a high standard, ensuring integrity and robustness of aircraft to meet operational requirements;
• Participate in aircraft recovery when necessary;
• Service and clean hangar, tools and ground equipment as directed by the Chief Engineer;
• Obey all lawful instructions given by the Chief Engineer and Engineering Manager.
