Northrop Grumman is seeking a Co-Op, Mechanical Engineer to join the Space Systems Sector. This position will be located in Chandler, Arizona. The successful candidate should plan to work full time Spring and Summer semester (January-August 2025).
This position would be with the Launch Vehicles business group.
As a co-op, you’ll participate in a co-op program to develop competencies in a variety of Mechanical engineering specializations that may include:
Roles and Responsibilities
Performs a variety of duties in the mechanical areas. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.
Basic Qualifications
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
• Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after August 2025
• Be majoring in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) from January- August 2025
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Intern and Co-op Pay Range:
Bachelor’s: $21.75 to $26.75 per hour
Master’s: $31.50 to $33.25 per hour

Salary Range: $1 - $1
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
