The Opportunity

In partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.

We are seeking a talented Senior Technical Officer - Avionics to support a world class airborne surveillance, communications and battle management system, the E-7A Wedgetail. Working in the Sustainment team we are responsible for current and emerging customer needs. This role will be based at our Adelaide Office.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Technical Officer - Avionics within BDA, you will

  • Provide Engineering support across the entire E-7A Airborne Mission Segment.
  • Develop engineering artefacts supported by a robust Engineering Management System. with the opportunity to gain Engineering Authority.
  • Develop and evaluate technical documents and instructions.
  • Liaise with Defence stakeholders to support and find solutions for technical issues.
  • The ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team, in a conscientious and inclusive way.

Experience/Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have

  • Have experience working as a Technical Officer or Technical Assessor with a proven track record of delivering technical outcomes, including investigation and exposure of system risks, analysis and reporting on technical issues.
  • Have experience working in the Avionics domain on civil or Defence aircraft.
  • Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Have proven high level of written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with engineering change processes.
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence NV1 security requirements.
  • Have experience working within a Technical Regulatory Framework (or similar).
