Will perform Field and Sustainment Level maintenance support/augmentation to include: Production control, Quality Control, Supply Management, maintenance, and repair of aircraft. Position requires a skilled Aviation Machinist provide the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) Planned Maintenance Interval (PMI) with fully qualified Machinist/Welder Specialist(s) IAW Directed Manning Baseline to assist in the aviation maintenance mission of the RSNF.
Shall work in specialized shops associated with fixed base operations Field Level maintenance as well as perform troubleshooting, testing, maintenance repairs and Technical Directive compliance on the H-60 Airframe in Saudi Arabia.
Essential Responsibilities:
Current or previous experience performing complex machining and welding to include but not limited to:
Responsible for layout, setup, alignment, operation, maintenance and preservation of manual and automatically operated tools, equipment, and machines used in machine shop and on field calls.
Responsible for layout, setup, alignment, operation, maintenance and preservation of manual and automatically operated welding, brazing, soldering, cutting tools, equipment, and machines.
Performs drilling, cutting, shaping, planning, and other fabrication, repair, rework, and modification operations with machines, equipment, and tools common to aircraft machine shops.
Performs welding, brazing, soldering, and cutting operations in the fabrication, overhaul, rework, modification, and maintenance of aircraft, vehicles, tools, equipment, and machines when welder certification is required.
Be responsible for completion and maintenance of all applicable forms, records, and reports using appropriate references and other publications required by the RSNF PMI Supervisor.
Provide On-the-Job-Training (OJT) for Saudi technicians and/or other personnel to include maintaining appropriate records on personnel.
Assist in shop safety as well as safety in the hangar and on the flight line.
Accept accountability of property for the machine/welding shop.
Identify, use and maintain common, special, and precision tools in job performance.
Maintain cleanliness and general maintenance of the associated work area. Perform cleaning, preservation, and accountability of assigned tools and equipment.
Operate motor vehicles, machines, and other mechanical equipment in the performance of assigned duties.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Must have a minimum of a high school diploma.
Must possess a valid and current Class "A" welder or welding operator’s certification authorization and have airframe structure experience.
Must pass the Jaeger Eye Exam every 2 years.
Must be familiar with American Welding Society, AWS D17.1.
Must be a graduate of a supervisor’s course or have at least 4 years supervision experience. Must be graduate of Welding/Metal Worker/Machinist course(s) or other military or civilian equivalent schooling in these specialties. Must have at least three (3) years of recent (within five (5) years of application date) experience, of which two (2) years must be at the supervisory level or civilian (journeyman) equivalent as a machinist.
Must have a demonstrated, hands-on working knowledge of how to use and read blueprints, engineering and schematic drawing, sketches, manufacturing specifications, and other directives and reference sources used in the performance of the job. Must be able to use shop mathematics, metallurgical tables, charts and other data used in the shop fabrication process.
Must demonstrate the ability to operate a lathe, drill press, planer, shaper, grinder, and milling machine in producing close tolerance work.
Knowledge of The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS) and applicable publications is desirable.
Must have demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written. Must be fluent in the English language. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand Arabic is desirable.
