- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Three (3) or more years of aviation maintenance experience within the recent past five (5) years performing aircraft hydraulics maintenance functions in a military environment and attainment of an Air Force 5 level (or equivalent) is required. Three years’ experience on F-117A is highly desired.
- Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining a professional and non-confrontational attitude.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, and replacement of parts.
- Requires broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
- Must have basic knowledge of electrical theory.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and sheers.
- This job requires a working knowledge of technical publications.
- The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from the supervisor or higher-level technician(s).
- Will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft-relevant tasks and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
- Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
- Working knowledge of principles applying to aircraft systems, concepts and applications of maintenance directives, data reporting, and using technical data is mandatory.
- Knowledge of Air Force supply and efficiency reporting procedures is mandatory.
- Knowledge of the proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials is mandatory.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain the security clearance level as mandated by the government customer.
- Maintains qualifications contained on the Special Certification Roster (SCR) as directed.
- Must possess a current valid U.S. Driver's License.
- Must speak, read, write, and understand English.
Working Conditions:
- The position requires complying with unique commuting/travel requirements.
- Will work in aircraft hangars and outside on aircraft ramps within close proximity of running equipment and aircraft.
- Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, or overtime shifts as required.
- May work outdoors, sometimes in hot or cold weather.
- May be exposed to contaminants.
- May be exposed to hazardous conditions, such as when standing on scaffolding or climbing ladders
- Will be exposed to loud and persistent noise
- Will be required to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety toe footwear, safety glasses, etc.
