Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Staff Contract Administrator to join our Contracts team in supporting the Global Tactical Programs Operating Unit and is based in Rolling Meadows, IL. This is a full-time position requiring an ability to work in-office 2 or more days per week and flexibility to support our evolving business needs in 2024 and beyond. Occasional travel to customer sites is required and estimated at 10. This position offers the 9/80 schedule.
What You’ll Get to Do:
As an integral member of the Combat Sensors Business Unit, the Staff Contract Administrator will:
Be responsible for supporting proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide and ensure proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer requirements.
Serve as the Contracts lead and be an embedded member of a large, complex Direct Commercial Sale (DCS) Program Management team, supporting program success and new growth opportunities across the portfolio.
Require a thorough understanding of contracting and experience negotiating complex terms and conditions and will primarily focus on both new and continued execution of various direct commercial sale procurement contracts, post-production support, and warranty. Direct Commercial Sale (DCS) contracts with prime contractors and the USG are also included within the OU portfolio, as is the extensive review and administration associated with select new business pursuits across the product line.
Participate in contract proposal preparation, contract negotiations, contract administration, and customer contract activities to manage assigned contracts in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
As primary interface with customer, will ensure that contractual obligations are communicated and understood, ensure fulfillment of contract requirements, manage contract changes, and maintain historical information.
Associated responsibilities include:
Reviewing terms and conditions to address provisions and risks of financial terms, acceptance criteria, delivery requirements, warranty, intellectual property, termination provisions, indemnification, and all other potential risk areas and recommending risk mitigation strategies.
Under general supervision, developing solutions to both routine and complex contractual matters to ensure company compliance with contract requirements on assigned programs.
Assisting management in achieving financial goals related to cash management and sales.
Preparing written communications with internal and external customers for assigned contractual matters
Work closely with the Contract Administrator to support processing a high volume of awards, modifications and maintain contract data in S/4 system.
Ensuring timely delivery of all contractual deliverables and submission of invoices.
This role will have significant visibility within the Operating Unit, including Business Unit and potentially some Division level submittals and reviews and must manage tight deadlines in a complex environment. This individual must have the ability to meet high performance expectations in a very dynamic environment. Excellent communication is a must as the selected candidate will be directly involved in negotiations with the customer as a strategic team member.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and 15+ years of relevant directly related experience - OR - a Masters degree and 13+ years of directly relevant experience. We will consider 19 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Strong technical acumen in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and Adobe Acrobat.
In-depth knowledge of commercial and government contracting with experience with different contract types.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to make recommendations and effectively bring projects to completion.
Must have capable & effective proposal development skills, excellent negotiation skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills
US Citizenship
Ability to obtain a secret security clearance. Not required to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
Extensive Commercial Contracting experience with Domestic Prime customers in support of Foreign End Users
Experience with Direct Commercial/International Sales and Foreign Military Sales (FMS)
Recent experience as a Contracts Professional in the defense industry
Strong working knowledge of the FAR, DFAR and other U.S. Federal Government contracting regulations
Experience with various contract types including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Cost Reimbursable, and Time and Material contracts
Familiarity with Northrop Grumman businesses, policies and practices
Strong interpersonal skills

Salary Range: $130,100 - $195,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
