The Database Administrator Senior is the subject matter expert on NALCOMIS OOMA operations. Oversees all aspects of the NALCOMIS OOMA to include all System and Database functions and capabilities. Ensures 100 accuracy within the NALCOMIS database. Ensures all baseline changes and modifications are current and performed correctly. Oversees Logs and Records personnel in the performance of all assigned duties.
Principal Accountabilities
- Maintains the accuracy of NALCOMIS OMA database.
- Coordinates and oversees all updates, changes and modifications of the NALCOMIS OMA database.
- Provides local expertise necessary to resolve system and functional related problems and ensure smooth operations.
- Identifies user problems and submits trouble reports via SMTS to SPAWARSYSCEN.
- Identifies database deficiencies and submits Baseline Trouble Reports to Baseline Manager.
- Coordinates and schedules all necessary system non-availability periods.
- Manages NALCOMIS system security controls and ensures access is consistent with each individual’s duties.
- Oversees the upkeep and maintenance of all required maintenance data and associated records within the NALCOMIS OOMA database.
- Provides NALCOMIS information in both narrative and graphic format as required.
- Provides NALCOMIS information as required for Quality Control monitoring

- Provides formal and informal training to maintenance personnel on NALCOMIS operations.
- Coordinates and oversees all data transfer requirements.
- Prepares required CDRL’s
- Prepares Monthly Maintenance Plan
- Complies with Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste and Tool Control Programs.
- Complies with all established general and industrial Safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facility and job assignment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Minimum
Knowledge & Skills
- Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of NALCOMIS OOMA.
- Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Navy and commercial aircraft, engine and equipment log books, maintenance records, applicable maintenance / technical manuals, publications and forms.
- Must demonstrate a high degree of knowledge in computer operation and data entry skills.
- Must be able to type a minimum of thirty-five (35) words per minute.
- Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate the English language and follow verbal and written instruction.
Experience & Education
- Satisfactory completion of U.S. Armed Forces Data Analyst/System Administrator course.
- Satisfactory completion of U.S. Armed Forces Logs and Records courses or other schools with equivalent curriculum or eight (8) years of on-the-job training and / or experience required.
- Graduation from high school or GED required.
- Must be able to meet any Government / Company licensing / qualification requirements for the position.
- Must have eight (8) years of NALCOMIS OOMA experience.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Generally, works in normal office environment, but may be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, to austere environments, under harsh living conditions.
Preferred
- OCONUS: Some positions will be assigned to overseas locations where living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable, with long hours, exposure to weather, dust, and hazardous/harsh conditions.
- Provide 24/7 support for assigned system.
