Position Summary
As a System Administrator, you play a critical role in maintaining an organization’s IT infrastructure. You ensure the smooth operation of servers, networks, and software applications. Your expertise keeps the digital wheels turning, allowing employees to work efficiently and securely.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
User Account Management:
- Create, modify, and disable user accounts in Active Directory.
- Set permissions, manage access, and troubleshoot account-related issues.
Server Maintenance:
- Regularly update and patch servers.
- Monitor performance, address bottlenecks, and optimize resource usage.
- Backup critical data and ensure disaster recovery readiness.
Network Security:
- Configure and maintain firewalls to protect against unauthorized access.
- Set up and manage VPN connections for remote access.
- Monitor logs for security incidents.
Virtualization (VMware):
- Install and maintain VMware vSphere 7.0.
- Manage virtual machines, storage, and networking.
- Apply security updates and patches.
Shared Drive Management:
- Organize shared drives logically.
- Set permissions for file access.
- Regularly clean up outdated files.
Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience: 5+ years working DOD/Army network
- Proficiency in Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and security principles.
Education / Certifications
- Education: BS/BA
- Certification: Sec+, CCNA (CCNP Preferred)
Clearance
- Must have an active SECRET security clearance

- Organized
