The Subcontracts and Procurement function plays a crucial and meaningful role in the success of Northrop Grumman Australia (NGA), directly supporting the delivery of our products and services by securing the essential goods and services that drive our operations. This team manages the entire lifecycle of subcontracts —sourcing to completion—ensuring that every agreement aligns with company policies, legal requirements, and customer expectations. Through strong supplier relationships and a focus on strategic procurement, the Subcontracts and Procurement function ensures that our projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget. Their work is instrumental in maintaining the high standards of quality and performance that are central to our organisation’s success.
Your Role:
As the Senior Subcontracts Specialist, you will be instrumental in driving NGA’s success by managing complex sourcing initiatives and ensuring effective subcontract management. From creating RFx packages and negotiating contracts to overseeing the award and ongoing management of subcontracts, you will play a vital role in keeping our supply chain efficient and aligned with business objectives.
Additionally, you will support the Manager Subcontracts and Procurement, in continuous improvement activities across the Supply Chain. This role will also involve collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders throughout the business, using your strategic thinking and communication skills to ensure seamless operations and continued business growth.
About You:
You are an experienced professional with a strong background in senior subcontracts or commercial roles, particularly within complex environments such as Defence. Your expertise in subcontract drafting, review, and commercial management makes you a key contributor in complex negotiations.
A natural leader and collaborator, you work effectively with cross-functional teams and maintain focus on long-term goals while managing short-term challenges. You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with executives, suppliers, and other stakeholders, always upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. You thrive in fast-paced environments, remaining calm under pressure and finding innovative solutions to challenges. Familiarity with Defence Supply Chain policies, especially the ASDEFCON suite of contract documents, will enable you to make a significant contribution to our team and mission.
