Position overview:
This post is for a Quality Specialist Intern to work within the Engineering function in Boeing Defence UK (BDUK). BDUK is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 1,200 people in the UK. BDUK is responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK defence customers including E-7 AEW&C, P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, C4ISR Services, and Through Life Support for the Chinook & Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services and Training Services.
Position responsibilities:
- Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
- Assists in review of proposals, contracts, regulatory, program and customer requirements to prepare quality assurance plans for hardware and software products, processes and services.
- Maintains Quality directives, policies, processes, procedures and metrics to assure program, contract, customer, regulatory requirements, international standards and working agreements are deployed using established procedures.
- Collects and verifies data to support the identification of root cause routine problems.
- Provides ideas and concepts for corrective action development.
- Assists with hardware, software and system level audits to determine compliance with quality management system standards, configuration assurance, related business, regulatory and customer requirements.
- Documents audit results in standard formats. Compiles data and reports Works under general supervision.
- Development of professional skills in a role with a 360 view of the whole business
- Contributes to solutions for Continuous Improvement Projects
- Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions. Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved

- Strong written and oral communication skills
- IT proficient (particularly Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical skills with a focus for detail
- Interest in working with data
Typical Education & Experience:
Studying towards Systems engineering, Information Services/Technology, Aeronautical and Automotive.
Relocation:
This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Work Authorization:
This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorization to work immediately in the United Kingdom.
