Setup, support, and monitor local & global LAN, WLAN, WAN, and VoIP Infrastructure. Perform a variety of network maintenance, installation, and training tasks to ensure LAN/WLAN/WAN/VoIP services meet company and user requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesu202F

  • Support the enterprise network team as a subject matter expert on core networking technology and market capabilities/trends.

  • Administer and support enterprise network monitoring systems and expanded functionality for cloud-based operations.

  • Responsible for assessing and facilitating network requests: including firewall policies, network design/configuration, Layer 2/3 services, VPN, load balancing, cryptography, and overall network architecture.

  • Participates in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of localized/on premise WAN, LAN, and WLAN network infrastructure within complex local and global environments.

  • Implement, manage, and assist in troubleshooting network security systems.

  • Implement, test, and monitor system enhancements (software and hardware updates/patches) which will improve the performance and reliability of cloud and on-premise network services.

  • Implement security-first network policies and procedures to adhere with NIST 800.171 and CMMC compliance regulations.

  • Provide and participate in cross-training to other team members on IT systems.

  • Assist with identifying and expanding corporate private and public cloud services, features, and capabilities.

  • Assist with expanding existing and future government cloud platforms including Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) environments in support of Department of Defense (DoD) cloud programs.

  • Collaborate on detailed network, storage, and compute design documentation to ensure strict security compliance, scalable infrastructure, and highly available computing operations on existing and future cloud platforms.

  • Communicates effectively with end-users, support staff, management, and other systems departments on internal, cloud, and hybrid initiatives.

  • Assist other teams with the integration, implementation, and troubleshooting of projects involving local, cloud, and hybrid network services.

  • Participates in the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plan and procedures for all locations.

  • Participate in Mergers and Acquisition (M&A) and program onboarding activities representing all enterprise networking requirement.

  • Liaises with end-users, management, and other systems departments for resolution of IT support issues.

  • Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department management.

  • Provide rotating on-call for production system support.

  • Exercises independent judgment in the planning, scheduling, organizing, controlling, and monitoring of IT projects.

  • Provide shift-based continuous monitoring of network performance providing Tier 2 & 3 support for a global network infrastructure.

Qualifications and Education Requirementsu202F

  • Bacheloru2019s degree in computer related curriculum and 5 years networking and operating system experience, or AA degree and 6+ years in networking and operating system design, test, and maintenance or equivalent related experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in support and maintenance of complex network environment.

  • Knowledge of Firewalls, Routers, Layer 2/3 Switches, VPCs, VLANu2019s, cryptography, and Wireless technologies.

  • Possess knowledge and ability to configure and troubleshoot routing, switching, WiFi, and VoIP, particularly within a Cisco and/or Arista environment.

  • Knowledge of protocols HSRP, OSPF, EIGRP and other routing, gateway load balancing, and VoIP-related protocols.

  • Familiarity of Load Balancers (BigIP F5, Citrix NetScaler) and WAN Optimizers (Arista SD-WAN, HPE SilverPeak, Riverbed).

  • Knowledge of IT Security policies and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) technologies.

  • Troubleshooting skillset for LAN/WAN network and application issues.

  • Knowledge of Network Services such as DNS, IPAM, (S)FTP, TFTP, LDAP, SMTP, and DHCP.

  • Knowledge of Infrastructure Monitoring tools using SNMP, Netflow, and Syslog.

  • Knowledge of 802.1x and NAC concepts/deployment.

  • Knowledge of PKI/Certificates for hosted services and client/device authentication.

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment.

  • Must have well refined troubleshooting skills, ability to determine the root cause of a problem and identify and resolve systemic problems.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, while effectively focusing on priority issues.

  • Ability to create, document, and follow processes and procedures.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

  • Ability to interface and work well with 3rd party vendors and corporate affiliates.

  • Incumbent must hold one or more of the following: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Route and Switch (preferred), Arista Certified Engineering (ACE), CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ (Or equivalent IA cert).
