Payroll & Benefits AdministratorDuties & ResponsibilitiesProcess weekly and biweekly payroll for salaried, hourly-non-union, and hourly-union pay groups across Canada, as well as a smaller monthly international pay group.Provide coordination support for our payroll inbox, including password resets, employment verification letters, updates to employee records including adjusting pay rate(s), changing employee status, calculating final pay, issuing ROE’s, etc.Regular participation in compliance reviews for statutory reporting and filing requirements in provincial and federal regulations, including Stats Canada and Service Canada requestsPrepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting using Ceridian Dayforce exported to Excel.Manage employee enrollments, changes, and terminations for benefits, RRSP, and pension plans.Liaise with benefits carriers, pension providers, and third-party administrators.Support employees with benefits-related inquiries, leaves, and claims.Ensure accurate deductions and remittances for benefits and retirement plans.Assist with annual renewals, reporting, and audits related to benefits and retirement programs.Assist in developing and updating payroll and benefits procedures and documentation.QualificationsPayroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is required; ideally, candidates would be working towards their PLP (Payroll Leadership Professional).A minimum of 5 years of full-cycle payroll experience, including knowledge of multi-provincial and federal regulations, and ideally 3 years working in Ceridian DayforceExcellent time management skills with exceptional attention to detailAdvanced or expert knowledge of Excel and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, specifically SharePointStrong work ethic, customer service focus, and a positive “can do” team attitude.Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required, along with the demonstrated ability to handle sensitive issues with a high degree of professionalism.Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.The Payroll & Benefit Team Norms / Working AgreementsWe are all continuous learnersWe foster an environment of psychological safety by allowing space and inviting all voices to be heardWe lean in with curiosity to solve problems, engage and support one anotherWe strive to communicate clearly and honestly and check for understandingBuilding and abiding by processes to reduce risk, increase accuracy and meet the deadlineRespect each other’s priorities and include people in requests that will impact their work or roleTake the time to listen before sharing alternate views
