Position Summary
The position assists with monitoring and implementing Corporate and facility activities and goals to ensure compliance with regulations to maintain a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. Position will work with operations and engineering staff on a regular basis as well as regulatory agencies as necessary. In matters of EHS, this position will be directly responsible for successful implementation of EHS programs and procedures.
Responsibilities
Incident prevention. Conduct environmental and safety reviews and determine root cause and corrective actions. Ensure EHS regulatory compliance and compliance with Corporate EHS Policies and Directives. Drive risk management through Job Safety Assessments (JSA’s), ergonomic assessments, training, and the near hit program. Achieve site safety goals by leading the site Safety Star Point team. Lead the site Green Team to target energy management and use reduction. Ensure all necessary follow-up activity from environmental, safety, and ISO 14001 audits are performed to assure compliance/conformance. Support customer EHS requirements. Conduct Industrial Health surveys and studies. Report directly to division management and communicate at staff meetings on EHS matters. |
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related discipline. 3 years in the environmental, health and safety field with demonstrated ability to assume increasing responsibility. General working knowledge of industry safety, OSHA, EPA and state-specific agency regulations and environmental system standards and their application to an industrial environment. Proficient using Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote). Ability to effectively communicate environmental, health and safety concepts, plans and technical data. Preferred: Experience with Benchmark’s Gensuite. ISO 14001:2015 Internal Auditor certificate |
