About This Role
We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for:
Coordinate and manage the five functions of Configuration Management for programs of small to medium size. Help programs meet their goals for cost, quality, and schedule.
• Establish and maintain constructive relationships with Government and commercial counterparts to foster Textron Systems’ reputation as a partnering organization.
• Provide technical direction to junior Configuration Management Analysts, mentoring them to increase their knowledge and confidence in the Configuration Management discipline.
• Draft new Configuration Management (CM) Plans for new programs, maintain CM Plans for existing work.
• Lead Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs) to ensure delivered product meets the product baseline requirements.
• Interpret complex specifications, contractual data, and hardware requirements, and apply that knowledge to provide direct support and assistance to Program teams as needed.
• Co-chair Change Control Boards (CCB) between Textron Systems and its customers and between Textron Systems and its suppliers.
• Represent Configuration Management in program reviews, presenting relevant data and defending project technical issues.
• Review documentation creation and change activities to ensure proper application of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) system requirements to metadata at the time of release.
• Coordinate delivery of periodic Technical Data Package (TDP) deliveries.
• Refine existing and develop new policies and procedures to support timely program execution and compliance with new and revised Configuration Management standards.
• Monitor and refine existing metrics, develop appropriate measures for the Configuration Management function, implementing change where needed, to improve execution.
• Support Quality System audits as requested.
• Act as Control Account Manager for Configuration Management Work Packages on contracts that require this oversight.
• Personal computer and corporate tool skills. (e.g., All Microsoft Office – Access, Excel, MS Project, Word, Outlook)
• Ability to establish and maintain configuration baselines for planning, managing, and building systems.
• Ability to control engineering changes to systems effectively and efficiently.
• Ability to read, interpret, and extract applicable information from specifications and processes.
• Ability to plan, organize and schedule tasks.
