This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in Palmdale, CA / El Segundo, CA / Redondo Beach, CA / San Diego, CA / St. Augustine, FL / Melbourne, FL.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Production Engineering & Operations (PE&O) organization.
Roles and Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
Creates data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets. Analysis may have many applications such as to address a business issue or provide a competitive advantage for the organization. Requires strong statistical and data visualization skills. Use and/or application of technical principles, theories, and concepts. Develops recommended solutions to technical problems as assigned.
This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Data Scientist level (T01) or a Data Scientist level (T02).
Basic Qualifications for an Associate Data Scientist (T01):
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
- Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.
- Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.
Basic Qualifications for a Data Scientist (T02):
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
- Be completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution or is completing or has completed their Bachelors degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of structural engineering experience.
- Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.
- Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.
Preferred Qualifications for both an Associate Data Scientist (T01) & Data Scientist (T02):
- Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher
- Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).
Pay Range
- Associate Data Scientist: 68,500.00 - 118,900.00
- Data Scientist: 82,900.00 – 143,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
