Position Summary:
Performs complex accounting functions related to financial reporting, analysis and interpretation, and provides input to management and guidance to other finance department personnel in regard to these functions.
Applies accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Maintains and/or oversees the accounts and records for disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income. Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy. Prepares balance sheet and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports. May design, modify, install, and/or maintain accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financial transactions. Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures. Reports to the Controller.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with month end closing processes, maintain the general ledger, generate monthly journal entries, and reconcile accounts.
- Prepare and analyze internal reports and provide summaries and recommendations to management regarding financial activities, results, and trends of operations.
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Assist with product cost development and cost savings calculations, creating budgets, forecasts, and activity rates.
- Develop a strong understanding of the Financial and ERP systems and the ability to data mine.
- Assist in the management of fixed assets including capitalizations, disposals, monthly depreciation/amortization, and researching appropriate accounting treatment of complex transactions related to fixed assets.
- Manage inventory accounting, including review of reserves for potential excess and obsolete inventory.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and coordination with team members, coworkers, production staff, and management.
- Review and improve daily processes and tasks to expedite and improve workflow.
- Provide audit support through the generation of timely and accurate schedules and documents.
- Create and maintain adequate and appropriate procedural documentation.
- Assist with SOX compliance and reporting.
- Analyze cost variance reports and profitability by item and customer.

- Familiarity with manufacturing / processing environment preferred.
Required Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred
- CPA License, CMA License or MBA preferred
